Located in the
heart of Richmond,
Still Water Zen Center offers formal Zen Buddhist meditation practice, training,
and retreats. Beginners are always welcome.
Our resident
teacher is Honji Osho, Linda
Frank who founded Still Water Zen
Center 1999, and received Inka
from Zen Master Dae Gak in 2005. Honji
is also a campus minister at the University
of Richmond where she
leads a student Zen group. She is currently developing a rural
retreat center at the farm in Louisa
County VA,
where she lives.
Still Water is
affiliated with the Furnace Mountain Sangha in Kentucky. Zen Master Dae Gak, of Furnace Mountain,
regularly visits SWZC to lead retreats. He was given teaching transmission
by Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1994 and has been practicing Zen for
over 30 years in both the Korean and Japanese traditions.
SWZC is a not-for-profit religious organization solely
supported by donations and event fees. Financial contribution is not
required for participation in regular practice at the Zen Center.
Special events which require fees are always identified as such on the
Calendar.
